Teatro Real - Opera de Madrid


El Teatro Real es el teatro de la ópera de Madrid, considerado uno de los más importantes de España y Europa. Se encuentra situado en la Plaza de Oriente, frente al Palacio Real, y es uno de los monumentos más emblemáticos de la ciudad.
Fue fundado a principios del siglo XIX, en el año 1818, e inaugurado en 1850, y se mantuvo de forma ininterrumpida como teatro de ópera hasta 1925, cuando tuvo que cerrar a causa de problemas estructurales en el edificio. No volvió a abrir sus puertas hasta 1966, como sala de conciertos sinfónicos. Entre 1988 y 1997 sufrió una importante remodelación que lo volvió a convertir en coliseo operístico.

He did not open its doors until 1966, as a symphony concert hall. Between 1988 and 1997 it underwent a major refurbishment which returned him to become operatic coliseum.
